Adolescent care

One question that every parent or caregiver eventually asks is, "How old is too old to see pediatrician?" When you choose Novant Health Village Point Family Medicine for your family's medical care, you do not have to worry about the answer.

Since our providers offer pediatric care and continue seeing patients into adulthood, you do not have to worry about your young adult feeling as if they are too old to come to our office. We are sensitive to the needs of young adults; we encourage parents or caregivers to remain active participants in their care, while still respecting the teenage patient's need for privacy. If your child's provider asks you to step out of the room during your child's exam, we appreciate your cooperation so that we can establish a trusting relationship with your child and address any of their concerns.

Adolescent issues we regularly address include information about growth or development concerns, help with period symptoms, weight or body image concerns, and treatment of acne.

If you have questions about adolescent care or would like to schedule an appointment for your young adult, either schedule online via MyChart or call us at 336-893-2420.
